Many ex-pat Aussies and friends of Australia in London are reeling from the scale of the tragedy unfolding in Victoria as a result of the devastating bushfires.  We all feel rather far away from home and are keen to do what we can to assist the victims.  As such, we are hosting an event this Friday night, where you will have an opportunity to donate as much as you choose to the main Australian Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal of 2009.  We just need you to sign up here and let us know you're coming so we can organise appropriate catering. 

DUE TO HEALTH AND SAFETY REASONS WE ARE UNABLE TO RELEASE ANY FURTHER TICKETS ONCE ALL ARE RESERVED.  WE WILL KEEP A RECORD OF ANYONE WISHING TO ATTEND, AND IF TICKET HOLDERS ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND ON THE NIGHT, THEIR TICKETS WILL BE RELEASED TO THOSE ON THE WAITING LIST.

PLACE - The RSA, 8 John Adam Street, London WC2N 6EZ (Opposite the Adelphi)
ROOM - The Vaults (Go to reception on John Adam Street and they will direct you)
CATERING - Cash bar
DRESS - Neat casual
DONATE - Financial donations only please; Australian Red Cross find this easier to distribute.  Cash preferred.  The organisers will provide you with a receipt and email you with a confirmation from the Red Cross that the funds have been received.  We will also have laptop at the event for anyone who wishes to pay by credit.

The Australian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Mr John Dauth, will be opening the formalities of the event at 6:30pm sharp. 

Please note that registration for attendance at this event is FREE which has been made possible with the support of the RSA.  We wish only to provide a venue and context for your donations.

Please join us at this event.  We're all hurting this week, and this is London's way of showing Australia that we care.
